Community Tech Help
A safe space for older people to explore the digital world
Lively’s Community Tech Help program offers friendly tech help for older residents, delivered by specially-trained young Helpers (aged 18–25) to be a warm and respectful guide to the online world.
Sessions are run out of accessible community venues such as libraries, community centres or senior citizens centres, and offered as a mix of 1:1 private sessions, group workshops or pop-ups.
We partner with local councils, community venues and retirement villages to make these sessions freely available to their residents. Find out more about partnering with Lively here!

Technology experts
Young adults aged 18-25 have grown up in a world surrounded by technology, making them incredibly adept at using digital devices. They can easily share tips and tricks that make navigating technology faster and more efficient.
Friendly format
Workshop presentations, combined with individual sessions, provide older people with a more intimate, hands-on setting where they can better understand the material and ask questions.
Different languages
Many of our Helpers are fluent in a second language such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Greek and Italian, and we can cater to community members with English as an additional language.

“The digital divide is a serious problem for our generation. The consistency of this program has been reassuring. It’s been a personalised life-line, very unique and unrushed.”

“My Helper has taught me Facebook and YouTube. I’ve had a computer for a while, but now I’m more interested. I’ve been able to learn how to video chat.”
